I just saw a video called Song of the Birds-A Biography of Casals

My eyes have confirmed what my ears have told me. Casals uses litle or 
no vibrato. When questioned by his Mother about why, Casals said " All 
that up and down of pitch would make me sound like a Yo Yo, Ma"
