Your question is both a good one and particularly difficult to answer. The most recent generation is always the largest field to survey, since critical judgment has not yet come to a consensus. But that makes it a more adventurous area to investigate. No doubt others will offer dozens of other names, but I would just like to mention the Americans DAC Crowell, Richard Karpen, Andrew Mead, and Chris Pugh, the Cuban-American-Austrian George Lopez, the Brazilian Flo Menezes, the British-Australian Chris Dench, and the French-American Joel Durand. None are younger than 30, but all are composers whose recent work I admire. -- Jerry Kohl <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> "Légpárnás hajóm tele van angolnákkal."
