Then you chose a bad place for a paragraph break, Genius.

MY intentional desire to incite? I think maybe you need to reread a
few things, pally.

And ignorance? I believe I see a question mark after my quoted
"comment".

>I
>NEVER said that obscure bands I've never heard of suck.

No, what you said was...

>But you get some folks on this poll naming bands I've never even heard
>OF, much less heard. It's almost laughable.

And that's what set me off to begin with because I see no difference
in this quote and you saying that bands you've never heard of suck.

Now if you want to say that I misunderstood, then that's fine by me.
But this isn't the first time that I have made mention of you saying
that you laugh in the face of any band you've never heard OF, much
less heard. Why do you choose now to defend it? And why should I
believe that you meant anything else just because you now say that you
were asking who we thought the legends of the 90's will be in the
future? After all, you are equating legendary with popular.

>In fact, I told you I'm a fan of bands you probably have no clue about.

And guess who didn't laugh at you for it?

>There is

Keyword here is OR. As in, great OR legendary. You said yourself that
you believe that 99 percent of "mainstream" is sewage, did you not?
And did you not also say that in order for a band to achieve GREATNESS
(legendary status?), they have to achieve some "legitimacy on the
radar"? Please keep these quotes in mind when I tell you that what you
are saying is that 99 percent of the GREATS are sewage. After all, do
you not think that Britney Spears, N'Sync, and the Backstreet Boys
will eventually find themselves in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? And
are you aware of how many "mostly unheard of" bands/musicians are
currently in the RRHOF? Or is the RRHOF not a good measuring stick for
legendary status?

John, I started a thread not long ago about the lack of true legends
being born recently. The "general concensus" was that there will be
very few, basically because of the radical difference in the Industry
from then to now. If you truly think that any performer "born in the
90's" will achieve legendary status solely because of talent and/or
the ability to "strike a chord", then you are sadly mistaken.

Remember the Bubble Blowers, John? I understand the point you are
making NOW, but I also understand the point were making THEN, which
was that if a band fails to gain a certain amount of popularity, then
they are not GREAT. But now that we know that you meant LEGENDARY, we
can progress this discussion to "popularity vs legendary", which I'm
sorry to say has no merit in today's music industry simply because
there is no longer a substantial difference between the two.

Well, I thought it was strategically placed.

Is that another attempt at humor?

Look, dude...I am a King's X fan. And if it was up to me, KX would
have been world-famous legends by now. But unfortunately, I have no
say in who's to be world-famous. And neither do you. And THAT is the
whole point here, you nimrod.
