Acoustic Sale

Friday last was a strangely romantic night around Squidco world
headquarters.  A couple of bottles of wine, candles everywhere, trying
to think of songs we knew all the words to, beginning to end. And, of
course, no electricity. We came up with "The Devil Went Down to
Georgia," all of "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" and "Don't Worry
About the Government" (although we couldn't remember the first two
lines).

Elsewhere, New York City, of course, persevered.  Elton Dean and Hugh
Hopper played an acoustic set at the Bowery Poetry Club under emergency
lights and Matana Roberts and Henry Grimes, who were supposed to play
with a quintet at the Jazz Gallery, instead played on the street under
the full moon.

To forever commemorate The Blackout of 2003 (sorry we don't have a
logo; please refer to CNN for snappy graphics), we're offering up a
mess of acoustic cds at discounted prices. You will, however, require a
power source to play them.
