SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS
PACGRID-04
The First Workshop on Partitioning Applications
for Computational Grids
held in conjunction with the
18th International Parallel & Distributed
Processing Symposium
www.ipdps.org
April 26-30, 2004
Eldorado Hotel, Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA

Computational grids, with a collection of heterogeneous resources
connected by heterogeneous networks, are being developed
globally. Efficient partitioning of applications to exploit such grids
is becoming an emerging area of research. Applications that can
exploit this new type of platform range from parameter-space studies,
Monte Carlo simulations, to graph-based applications and multi-physics
coupled models. Currently, grid core middleware such as Globus does
not provide a service for partitioning. On the other hand, existing
partitioning tools may not be completely suitable for
grids. Partitioning applications for computational grids is a very
important activity for moving existing applications to grids.
Papers are invited on the following topics:
* Partitioning Algorithms
- Graph Partitioning
- Load Balancing
* Computational Grids
- Software Support
- Modeling
* Experiences with Applications on High Performance Computers
(e.g. clusters, SMPs, etc.) and Grids
* Applications
- Computational Fluid Dynamics
- Computational Mechanics
- Weather and Climate System
- Ocean and Earth sciences
- Combustion Systems
- Structural Engineering
- Computer Graphics and Visualization
- Other Applications
Submission Information
----------------------
We invite you to submit a full paper of up to 12 single-spaced pages
of text, using 12-point size type on 8.5x11 inch pages, for oral
presentation. Submitted papers have to be original, containing new
results that were not previously published. The paper must present an
original work, not published elsewhere. Each paper will be refereed by
at least three independent reviewers. Paper submission indicates that
the work is original, has not been published in this form by any other
venue and the intention of the author to present the paper at the
PACGrid-04 workshop at IPDPS 2004. Accepted papers will be published
by IEEE Computer Society Press as proceedings of IPDPS 2004.
The submitted paper must be submitted electronically in either
Postscript or PDF format. The author should also submit a separate
text file with information relevant to the submission (such as the
author's name, affiliation, contact address, e-mail address, title of
the submission, the name of the presenting author and the theme of the
submission).
Send your manuscript to Dr. Eric Aubanel ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) by November
15, 2003. Authors will be notified by December 19, 2003. Further
information about IPDPS 2004 can be found at: http://www.ipdps.org/
