Sea Time?

Just got my Z Card, just finnished my SCTW yesterday, am going to
start talking to unions this coming week.  
        My question is, I have over a year of sea time from the Navy
back in the late 80's/early 90.  It was while I was an AK (Aviation
Storekeeper) in the supply department aboard a carrier.  How can I get
any of this credited to me?  If I searched out work in supply, would
any of this count?  Any suggestions?
