<< This is some fairly heavy stuff, does anyone have any stories, first or secondhand of any of htese types of incidents. >> In her book, Fair Seafarer, ISBN 1-882593-20-0 (hc), ISBN 1-882593-50-2 (pb), Nancy Allen, wife of a Sealand Chief Mate, tells of some pirate stories and how they operate. I'd recently heard of a new kind of ship pirate -- terrorists who would gain control of a tankership, preferably a gas hauler, put it on autopilot, aiming it for a harbor perhaps with petrochemical docks.
