Productivity jumps to 20-year high
Revision shows profits soaring, unit labor costs sinking

WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) - The U.S. economy enjoyed the greatest growth in
productivity in 20 years in the third quarter, the Labor Department
estimated Wednesday.
Strong productivity is the foundation of economic growth and rising
living standards. With greater productivity, firms can increase both
profits and wages without raising prices.
