CA-Planner & Scheduler Power Plant Bakersfield Area BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the day to day administration of the MainSaver Maintenance Management Program. Input, plan and track the plant’s maintenance activity utilizing the MainSaver Maintenance Management Program and Microsoft Project scheduling tools. Assist in the preparation of outage packages and Contract Service Orders. Review entered work orders; plan each work order, and include all technical support documentation if required. This position, in addition to the above basic responsibilities, will act as a maintenance technician and assist maintenance in the completion of assigned work when needed. TYPICAL DUTIES: Review newly inputted work orders for completeness and accuracy. Plan, prioritize, and assign each work order. Research technical data and include in work package. Review each completed work order, ensure appropriate remarks are entered and close work order from the system. Provide reports to management to track the status of this maintenance. Review purchase requests for parts or materials to ensure correct parts are ordered and proper material specifications are sited. Assist warehouse person to ensure correct parts and materials are received. Inventory, control and administer the plant’s technical library and blue print files. Maintain the file system on the plant’s structures and machinery broken down by asset number. Develop daily and long range maintenance schedules and insure proper documentation and information is relayed to Operations for proper equipment isolation. Schedules will be developed with input from the Maintenance Manager. Develop computerized Critical Path schedules for planned outages and major maintenance projects. Schedules will include activities identified by the Maintenance Manager with activity durations and resource requirements compiled by the Planner/Scheduler. Other Duties: Perform the duties of a Maintenance Technician III in the completion of maintenance within area of technical expertise. Assist the Maintenance Manager in proper documentation of planned outages and major maintenance projects in historical records for future reference. Requirements of the position: A two year degree in engineering from an accredited college or technical school is desired. A high school graduate or equivalent required. General knowledge of company policies and procedures. A thorough knowledge of power plant operations and maintenance. Documented expertise as a mechanic, electrician or instrument controls technician. An in-depth knowledge of computerized maintenance management and scheduling programs. Must be computer literate.
