The successful candidate will develop tools for annotation,
characterization, and representation of genomic data. The position
requires experience in one or more of the following areas:
bioinformatics and interpretation of genomes with an emphasis on
microbial genomics, development of tools and algorithms for analysis
of biological data, CGI or Internet programming, high-volume data
processing, scientific visualization, database design, and logical
querying systems. Some experience in interdisciplinary collaborative
research involving biologists, mathematicians, and computer scientists
is desired. Candidates should have a recent Ph.D. in computer science,
bioinformatics, or a related discipline. The appointment is available
immediately and is for a one-year term (renewable).
