Close coordination with Motorola approved local external (outsourced) test houses for CENELEC, FCC, FDA, and UL regulatory testing for Motorola BCS products at NIS-San Jose. Works closely with NIS-San Jose Engineering to develop clear understanding of product functionality with regards to regulatory test requirements. Reviews documents and Engineering Change Notices that bring product into compliance. Tracks all active products relative to determining extent of product compliance. Defines compliance test plan with Engineering, coordinates regulatory testing, oversees certification efforts and maintains certification records. Facilitate NDA with external laboratories, acts as liaison with external laboratories with respect to compliance testing, factory inspections and certification submissions. Maintains purchase requisition interface via Oracle between NIS-San Jose site and external test houses. Insures all new components have accurate documentation and are properly certified for use on NIS-San Jose product. Working knowledge of thermal analysis with demonstrated use of FLOTHERM tool. Works with NIS-Horsham Product Assurance personnel on joint efforts regarding regulatory compliance requirements for NIS products. Maintains above average understanding of applicable CENELEC, FDA, FCC and UL regulations for adherence with regards to NIS-San Jose products. Proven experience with HALT/HASS requirements. Working knowledge of product reliability to include MTBF, Probability, and Statistical Analysis. Strong background in process control, vendor, and product certification procedures. NIS-San Jose site representative for quarterly UL validation inspections. Working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing/Quality requirements as they apply to LVM Basic understanding of the SixSigma philosophy for eventual application to NIS-San Jose quality plan for CY2003. B.S.E.E. from accredited engineering curriculum (desired). Minimum 7 years experience in a Product Assurance role with emphasis on process control. Minimum 5 years experience with Regulatory Compliance procedures. Experience with fiber optic product reliability aspects (desired). ASQ (American Society for Quality) Certification (desired) Ability to read and extract vital data from regulations as published by regulatory agencies such as CENELEC, FDA, FCC and UL. Dependability with regards to follow-up activity between NIS-San Jose and contract test houses. Above averarge PC skills with Metaphase type PDM database, Oracle, and MS-Office software.
