Trump has made it clear that he gets his jollies 'doing the deal'. It's more than about money, though he loves it, for sure. Trump deserves a bunch of credit; he was virtually bankrupt, and he built it all back. His experience would have broken lesser men. Regarding the original question: most successful investors know the difference between 'cash' and 'cash-flow'. Some projects are designed to generate lump sums; others are for income streams. Having a healthy balance of both let's you play golf once in awhile. :-)
