Re: Monitor per hour cost estimate

i have an electric meter on my home pc running 24/7 heres my stats..

pentium 4 (bought 3 months ago) 350W power supply
GENERIC 17 inch monitor
cannon inkjet printer (3 years old)

all on, the system draws about 1 KWH every 8 hours i do have sleep
mode for the monitor enabled, and when it is in sleep mode, the
monitor reduces its consumption from 80 watts to 30 watts ( i guess it
turns off the tube but not the circutry)

i would recomend the kill-a-watt device, i built my own from and
electric meter and socket, but thats more work than most would do, the
kill-a-watt is much easier.
