Hmmmm? Sounds like someone has solved the age-old problem of motivation .... So .. how are you motivated? Different people are motivated by different things. (Now that's pabulum!) However, the article by Mr. Cochran was right on in my experience. I work with several hundred companies a year and thousands in the workforce. I find that people "are" looking" for just what Mr. Cochran said. The workforce is hungry for a motivating culture led by men and women with integrity. (Do what they say and say what they do!) It's interesting how many people will stand on the shore while people drown and just throw rocks instead of doing something. Oh ... I understand a person must know his or her limitations, but that does not mean to criticize people who can swim and know how to save lives. (Actually, the analogy of someone drowning is accurate to how people without motivation feel) I think the old rule of thumb for life saving could be true in this case as well .... "Reach, Throw, Row, Go". Perhaps in the future we will discover new ways to get to those who need the motivation to not only perform but to survive the rigors of the workplace. Just A thought!
