I think you mistook "screwed up" with "built up". This country wouldn't be
what it is today without immigrants. The big immigration waves in the late
19th century, the 1920/30ies and during the 1950/60ies is what made this
country great!

And just fyi: The entire agricultural industry relies on immigrants because
they are willing to do hard work for scrap money. Unless you want to pay
about double for your bread and vegetables, I think its best for our economy
to keep a whole bunch of em right where they are :)
