Yes, it is not weigh [over] alone that can be responsible. it is often a contributing factor. I was over weight before dx but not type 2. My weight [not excessive] was not a contributing factor towards my condition. However, loosing the extra has helped me gain control. But to tell you the truth, the lack of that weight has changed my appearance and i am not really that happy about it.
