Re: Remove toxins and cleanse for a healthy body

I disagree with whoever said that this subject is off-topic. I have
diabetes due to an autoimmune situation that is now threating my thyroid as
well. Since autoimmune disorders are now being associated with toxins in
the body, I've become quite interested in doing a little "de-toxing" myself.
Health of a diabetic goes beyond blood sugar readings.

"Being associated with" != caused by. Being in prison is associated with being black: but you don't fix that by removing the black, you fix it by addressing the *poverty* and prejudice they fight everyday.

In this case, the damage is already done. And a stronger, more interesting issue is the epidemiological aspects of Type 1, which have associated with at least one flu virus, and most frequent onsets a few months after the flue season.

That having been said, I will address Louise, and any others who may
benefit. I have just finished reading a book by Stephen Edelson called "What
your doctor may not tell you about autoimmune disorders...". I will admit
that he was a bit extreme for me and now that I've finished reading it, I'm
still not sure how to get started, but it did talk about the different
toxins that may be in the body and how they get there. And he definitely
recommended finding out from a doctor what those toxins were before trying
to purge them. It was good background information on toxins whether it
relates to autoimmune diseases or not.

What kinds of toxins was he referring? Did his writing seem intelligible and well-supported, or was he pulling the Betty Martini trick of making up stuff and then quoting other people who mention your ranting letters as proof that they believe it independently? How did he refer to "purging" them? After all, the word "purging" is often associated with various excretory stimulants. (Serious prune juice, massive amounts of water, etc.) These approaches can be done to excess.....
