That is just propagating the spam. 2) I am a proud member of my local NPR station. They provide outstanding music and news coverage with only minimal advertising (ok, it has a lot of whining, but if people joined before the membership drive, the membership drive would cease to exist -- a small price to pay for outstanding news).
