You are a GENUIS! Tell us, you must, must have peeked, right?
No? You figured out that they use batteries all by yourself? Wow!

That's right, at realgoods.com (and elsewhere including cheaper
systems) there are systems that thousands of Americans
have already used to dis-connected 100% from the grid...and
that's without as intense (not as close to the equator) solar
power as Africa, where living 100% off grid is therefore more
technically easy than even in the US.

Anyway, having been proven wrong on "this
is an example of the west telling Africa what to do"
since it was an African newspaper...the subject is
changed to how these systems work...great...at
least they might find out how scores of Americans
have lived off grid and educate themselves for a bit

next up: "what's this with dollar per watt? Isn't
it supposed to be dollar per watt-hour?"

Answer: yes energy is measured in dollars per watt-hour,
but something else is measure in dollar per watt, read the
dang URL we gave out last time and find out..

(you can get PV for at little as $3.75/watt
and that's not the kind of savings for government
and large-scale instalations which would be cheaper...
though, we have to say, currently WIND is much
cheaper than solar...and if you count the hidden
costs of coal/oil/gas, on our air pollution
and greenhouse gasses, then wind is cheaper than those
things already today, never mind that prices are
also falling for both wind and solar)
