For Sale: Year 2000 Powerbook G3, 500mhz, 20gb HD, 320mb ram, 2 good batteries, flying saucer power supply, VST floppy/Imation Superdisk module. Has ->2<- FW ports, 2 USB ports, 56K modem, 10/100BT ethernet, PCMCIA slot, Airport ready, Orinoco 802.11b card included. Preloaded with OS 10.2.8 and OS 9.2.2, Office 2001 and v.X, Appleworks, iLife apps, etc. All OS update loaded (half a day of downloads with a 56k connection, 2 hours work with broadband!). ASKING $700, Paypal accepted (add 3%) UPS ground included EXTRA - included is the Apple DVD drive module which reads DVD data and plays DVD video discs, but doesn't like CD's. When it tries to read a CD it seems unable to read the lead in data and I think (from the sound) that it is closer to the center than a DVD lead in and just physically can't get to it. I didn't want to take it apart (hopefully to fix) as I have a portable CD-RW when I need to read CD's and didn't want to take the chance of screwing up my ability to watch DVD movies. If you are so inclined, the VST FW portable CD-RW is available for $95. Powers from the FW port, very light and compact.
