Ok, I actually do a lot of real walking out of necessity. Simply put, I
can't drive due to low vision so I HAVE to walk to Foodtown or HAVE to
walk to where I need to go.
Still, my cardiologist said I need to get into a program of real walking
as in a couple of miles a day. This is in spite of the fact that my
heart (so I'm told) is stronger than my body. :) As it is, walking 2
miles in a relatively flat area is a snap. I can walk up to 4 miles but
I won't claim daily.
However, I am in a downtown area with some good hills. Being a fast
walker, it took me about an hour to walk two miles and the route did
include one main busy intersection and the usual traffic in a busy small
town.
Here is my question. About how many calories am I burning? With
clothes, I weigh 160lbs. and could stand to lose some pounds. :) I'm
more on the chunky side as opposed to fat..
As for dieting, my eating habit includes 100% fruit juices, dinners
prepped by Foodtown, frozen dinners, pasta and Chunky soups. Yes, there
is the occaisional sandwiches. Never really learned to cook other than
this. Any ideas as to what I can do?
