Fact is most drugs, over 99.99% are discovered or engineered by
universities and /or public research grants and not drug companies.
Drug companies buy the patent from the university or research group and
use millions and millions of dollars on advertising, wining and dining DR's
and getting the drugs past the FDA and pass the cost of all that on to you
plus a huge profit of course. Just look at the differences in price between
Canada and the US, the main factor being in Canada they can only mark
something up so much where in the US the ceiling is the limit.
