There is a ton of info on the web about this... but a lot of it is wrong....

To the best of my knowledge the Nova Transact software is bought for one
price and that's that. 

I think that what you are asking is if there is a gateway out there that
does not charge a monthly fee. The only one that comes close is
www.echo-inc.com. 

Do you already have merchant status with your bank or a 3rd party? Most of
those will charge a discount rate and not a monthly fee. It's the online
gateways that usually charge a $20 fee plus a transaction fee. But it all
comes down to what you can negotiate which will depend on your volume. If
you have "clicks" they will "fix the tix."
