I would appreciate hearing from other folks who have moved their business out of California recently. Posting replies will no doubt degenerate into another academic/political discussion, so, if you can give me some "real world" advice, I would appreciate your copying me with email. Our company is located in California and we are looking for another state to move to -- a bordering state or other western state would be nice, but we are not against moving to NC or other east coast states. Reasons are extremely high business liability insurance and workers compensation insurance. An example of our costs -- we just got our renewal quotation for liability insurance and it will increase 300%. This is with no claims -- ever. Same with workers comp -- the cost of workers comp in California for a carpenter, for example, is $70-105/$100 (That is, insurance premium is $70 to $100 per each $100 paid in salary.) Thanks in advance!
