You're right...NO. As someone else mentioned, "fire alarms" in such
buildings are often false alarms. Gets spendy for the city to spend
$1000 + every time you show up and kick a door.

Second...as you pointed out in your statement...for "fire alarms and
other emergencies". Why would you jeopardize the security of the
entire building and ring up that expense for the city for...lets say,
someone who fell and hurt their ankle...but can't get up to open the
door.

Lock boxes serve their purpose. Use them wisely.
