After posting my reply to this thread, where I used my real e-mail
address (without "NOSPAM" added), I have been "drowned" by e-mail
infected with the [EMAIL PROTECTED] worm.
Usually I receive something about 10-20 e-mail infected with this worm
daily, but during the last 24 hours, i.e. since I posted my reply to
this thread, I have received almost 300..... This increase in daily
amount of e-mail infected with the [EMAIL PROTECTED] worm occur whenever I
post to newsgroups and accidentially forget to add "NOSPAM" to my e-mail
address in the message header, and thereafter it may take more than a
week before the daily amount is "back to normal".
This happen because the [EMAIL PROTECTED] worm, in addition to the regular
method of using e-mail addresses from address book(s) on the infected
senders computer for sending itself to other users, also have a built-in
and so called "NNTP-engine" that make the worm capable to harvest e-mail
addresses directly from all posts in any newsgroup(s) visited by the
infected sender, and it's not even necessary to make a post to the
newsgroup(s) for this to happen.
Therefore, it is evident that one of more of you reading and/or lurking
the newsgroups this message is posted to do have the [EMAIL PROTECTED] worm
running silently on your computer and should therefore run a full virus
check on your system.
A free and stand-alone (i.e. it doesn't require other antivirus-program
installed) removal tool that perform a full system scan and then remove
the [EMAIL PROTECTED] worm from the computer if it is found, is found here:
