By 75 you had to be an EMT in California.
If you're a cop or fire fighter in California you may have heard of Hank
Marsh. If an attorney, you have the book his dad wrote and he edited
California Mechanics lien law.
Top of his class at Davis all three years, law review, etc, etc.

In 1964, at 16 (you triggered the memory) he applied for a job with the
ambulance company I later bought. He was told he was not old enough. He went
home and they called and asked if he could work that night. (Those were the
days.) He said yes and they hung up.
He didn't know what to do so he went out and bought white pants, shirt,
shoes and sox.
Then he sat in a chair all night long waiting....
