(Personally, I think the KED is a waste of time, a hindrance to proper care, and utterly useless for much of anything, but that's another thread). We've taken more than one roof simply because the patient was tall, couldn't get through the car's doorway without bending his neck, and it wasn't possible to lay him down flat to slide him out. We've never cut a cruiser, but we've threatened it more than once. Eventually the PD got the hint and quit putting patients in their back seat.
