If someone used an infrared gadget to make the light change, how would
anybody know that it had happened?  -Dave


As mentioned, in most installations it's not IR but a special (visible) strobe.


Anyway, in the Everett, WA area, when someone uses an override, you can usually tell by the bright amber rollers ("rotating beacons" I think they're called) mounted high at the corners of the intersection.

That, and the way traffic patterns are royally screwed up. ;)
