OTOH, since municipal goverents are the ones who grant these exclusive cable company franchises, they can certainly demand that, in order for a cable company to get the franchise (renewed) they must agree to wire all police, fire, EMT, etc. stations with Internet access at rates negotiated along with the franchise agreement. I'm surprised I'm the first person to ever think of this, and that every police and fire station is not already wired up for free broadband Internet access... -- Friends don't let friends shop at Best Buy.
