   You may want to read about 
Emergency Medicine residencies in 
the U.S.   Though not exactly what
you were mentioning, Emergency Medicine
here is a very broad specialty that includes 
many procedures. 
   Though a bit further from your idea,
Family Practice residency in the US
incorporates many procedures and 
will prepare you for work in small-
town Emergency Departments. 
  I did a Family Practice residency
in the US and enjoyed several years
of working in a small-town 
Emergency Department.
  I do believe, though,
that Emergency Medicine is the
closest field here in the US to 
the field you described.
