Re: What if you don't want to treat patients?



There are some schools that are very focused on admitting individuals with a
strong desire to become clinician/researches but I do not know of any that
would foster the attitude of graduating folks that do not want any patient
contact. Why are you asking? If you just want to do research you can get a
Ph.D, and if you want to work with an insurance company you would be better
off with maybe an MBA. I think that most folks entering medical school do
desire patient contact but some may change their mind later in years three
and four. Entering medical school with the knowledge that you do not want to
treat patients is something that I had never heard of...
