Ventriloquism in the Classroom!

NO DUMMIES HERE: Ventriloquism in the Classroom!

A new Canadian Ventriloquism Association is being founded THIS FALL by an Ontario Educator, Author and Consultant who believes that puppetry and ventriloquism has a place in the lives of Canada's youth.

"I think reality TV needs to be turned off and wholesome Vaudeville style entertainment needs to be turned on.", says Kenneth McGrath (a.k.a. Ken Adrian, Comedy Ventriloquist) "Ventriloquism can be a healthy creative outlet for kids - especially for those who are introverted. It's surprisingly easy to learn and have fun with and even those who can't master lip control can be a part of the show!"

The "C.V. Eh?" will be featuring a number of classroom-ready learning materials in a variety of subjects around this fascinating art form.

"We're putting together FREE ready-to-use materials similar in format to the popular Project WILD resources used for ecological educational outreach - except of course our stuff will focus on the science, art, math, history, language arts, and 'general wackiness' of ventriloquism and the related building of puppets.", says McGrath, "We're especially interested in reaching home schooled kids who are looking for something new and interesting!"

Also, notes McGrath, ventriloquism can be an extremely powerful tool for educators - whether in schools, at home, in the community, etc...

"Kids really listen a 'Dummy' - I used one in the classroom years ago and it really helped me connect to students on another level. Any teacher who's interested in Venting should feel free to contact me anytime through the Web site."

In the meantime, check out http://www.ventriloquism.ca today and, please, spread the word about this fantastic resource!
