Re: Is Jesus honored when people make a lie in His honor?

For example, Catholics don't worship Mary--they "give her spiritual
value". And they don't worship statues, either. They worship "through"
statues.

Interesting rationalization. You realize that your second statement
(which is not from scripture) cancels the first (which is from
scripture), right?

If having a tree is acceptable, then the person against it is the
"weaker brother". If having a tree is unacceptable, then the person
against it is simply right, and the person for it is simply wrong.

The heart of the "meat sacrificed to idols" debate is that eating it
is in fact a matter of indifference to God; it IS NOT a genuine
question or right or wrong. The weaker brother merely THINKS it is.
