A growing number of senior citizens, myself included, are going to college and taking credit courses. Some take a few number of courses; some take a full load, going for a degree. In some states there is a reduced fee (or no fee) for senior citizen residents at state universities and colleges. I am looking for information on what senior citizens are majoring in when they either return to ot start college with the intention of getting a degree(s). It would seem that majoring in the hard sciences, such as chemistry and physics, would not appeal to seniors who would have little opportunity to use such training. But I cannot find much data about what other senior citizens zre doing when they return. Anecdotal evidence abounds. Is there any useful data on this subject? Thanks for any help.
