FYI: GBC does not provide parts or service for personal shredders

My two year old, very infrequently used GBC 55X-3 personal shredder crapped out
on me this weekend.  I opened it up to find the motor was mounted using 4 plastic
screws 3 of which failed causing the motor shaft to strip the first gear.

I contacted GBC service requesting the part and their excerpted response was:

"We do not offer parts or service for our personal shedders.
If there is anything else I can assist you with please feel free to contact me again."

If you are considering buying a GBC personal shredder, consider their willingness
to support their products.
