My house has 4 main heating zones, plus an office area on a separate
system.  However, we keep at least 3 of the main house zones warm,
because we routinely use rooms in those zones.  One house zone and the
office, we sometimes remember to turn down.

If you do not buy too much house for your income, the heating costs
are less of a worry.
