Hi everyone, I'm not sure how big of a problem this really is (or even if it is a problem). A few weeks ago, we agreed to rent a townhouse. After some negotiating, we signed a lease. We did the walkthrough last weekend, and were surprised to find the place much dirtier then when we had originally visited. It turns out that the landlord's daughter had been living there (and may still be for all we know), and obviously made very little effort to clean up. We asked for another cleaning before we moved in, or to have a deduction from the rent for the first month so we could have it cleaned, but the landlord refused. Since we have already signed the lease, I don't think we have very much bargaining power. We're scheduled to move in next week, and I'm afraid of what condition we might find the place in at that time. Is there any way we can force the landlord to clean it up? Or should we take pictures and leave the place dirty when we move out? Thanks in advance...
