Frugal Las Vegas redux

My sister and her family are heading to Las Vegas in a few weeks. My mother and
stepdad already have a room and will be meeting her there. They have invited me
and said I can just stay in their room. I may just pass up the trip because I
want my own room but can't really afford it. But as much as I dont want to go
to
Vegas, its a good opportunity to hang out with family outside of the confines
of a desolate home. If I have to escape when the kids start to act up, it can
be into a city surrounded by desert, other than just desert.

Which brings me to my question - where do I escape too? I don't gamble and only
have so much money and alcohol tolerance to be spending the whole 24 hours
out of the day at the bar. There are some things in Nevada I would like to do
like fire machine guns or go visit the Nevada test site but cant really get out
of the city.

So what the hell can I do here for 3 days other than spend 10 mins with the
children then get drunk and wish I was home? Thinking of dragging my cousin
along but that would only compound the problem
