Re: Ain't MY Mother Earth News ??

I was a subscriber for many years when it first started too. Sometime
during the 1980's I found that it had lost its original flavor and ceased
reading and buying it.

However, I have found that in the past few years Mother Earth has really
tried to get back to their original way of doing things, and I have found
many good, helpful articles.

I think that MOST of the readership ARE urban types who are self sustaining
wannabees. Unfortunately, the way the world is these days, most of us are
forced to live where the jobs are and can only look forward to the day when
we can move to the country. It seems to me that Mother Earth is simply
trying to cater to that group. After all, MOST people who are currently
living off grid or whatever, already KNOW the information they need to be
successful in this lifestyle.

Don't be too harsh on them. If you have been to a newsstand lately you
might have noticd that most of the magazines in print are pure and utter
garbage. At least Mother Earth is TRYING to provide some type of useful and
interesting information.

And besides, even when I do live "in the middle of nowhere" I will have a
hot tub (wood fired, of course).
