I'm thinking you may be sorry if you go with prepay.  In order for prepay to
be less expensive than a service plan, one would have to talk an average of
four minutes or less per day.  One of the less expensive prepay plans,
CallPlus, using the AT&T TDMA system, is 23 cents per minute if a $40
airtime card is purchased, good for 90 days.  If your son averages 5 minutes
per day, the cost would be $34.50 per month.  For a $29.99 service plan,
which probably would add up to about $35 with all the taxes and fees, he
could get 250 minutes per month, or over 8 minutes per day.
