Interestingly enough, the best way to *not* damage your feet is to walk with no support at all - ideally, barefoot. If you support the foot too much, the small muscles that keep the arch arched will atrophy. There have been many studies that show that people who live in cultures where going barefoot is normal have much healthier feet. LM
