I was very recently in my local Toys-r-Us for the first time in probably nearly a year. Seems like two thirds of the store is now Babys-R-Us / Kids-R-Us stuff (tons-o' clothing, cribs, car seats) and only a third of the store is actually Toys. Also, no more than half mile away, a K-Mart that closed down last year is being converted into a Babys-R-Us. (Well, half the K-Mart is; the other half will be a Bed,Bath,Beyond). So, it seems like Toys-R-Us will be directly competing with a Babys-R-Us very soon, unless the Toys store will re-adapt its inventory to account for the other new store's existence.
