I found one egg at large in the yard last week, so have kept the ducks penned since then. This morning one of the girls (presumably the oldest) had dropped an egg for me - it wasn't there last night so it was at most 12 hours old when I retrieved it. The younger ducks are about 4 months behind, so I don't expect them to start laying until spring. When they do I should see 4-5 eggs per day. I'll need to find an outlet, as we use about 1/2 dozen per week These eggs certainly won't be frugal, but I know what's in 'em (and more importantly what ISN'T) and I know they're fresh!
