It is Albert. I run an almost exclusively Linux web hosting business
with a couple of Win/2K laptops and a single high performance Win/2k
tower that runs the Adobe suite and Macromedia Dreamweaver.

The windows machines do not require any additional support from a
network point of view. I don't run file sharing, email or other server
style network applications on my MS boxes. They are cheap web browsers,
game machines and/or dedicated printing/design stations.

The cost for network access is all on the linux boxes that do the server
applications ( and in the router that faces the internet ). The only
additional work was a few lines in a router ACL to prevent external boxes
from initiating a connection to the Win2k machines.

If you run file sharing or windows domain servers then you have other
problems. That's like running naked through the woods while carrying
a sign saying "I squeel like a pig..." (<--"Deliverance" movie reference)
