They said 20-30 F when they installed mine. And that it would keep working - although not very well - down to 0... Fortunately an electric furnace was also part of the deal, so when it gets that cold I still stay warm. Last year this house was warmed with gas heat, and the cost was absurd. This year using the heat pump (and some electric fan forced heaters in the living areas for extra warmth), the price isn't even half... FW
