I suspect the latter, since Don didn't mention Herr H.

BTW, Michael Lamb at the US DOE's Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
hotline (800) 363-3732 says winter humidification wastes energy. He also says
to call back with any further questions before 12/31/03, when the hotline
will disappear, after 20 some years, given current US funding priorities.
