Pennsylvania has an annual inspection. I think it's valid. They check tire tread, brake shoes, muffler, headlight aim, etc. Many folks don't do thier own maintenance, and this is a good way to discover any safety issues. Just as important; You must produce a valid owners card, and proof of current auto insurance to get your inspection sticker. I guess there are places that cut corners, but for the "honest folk", I think it's a good thing. >Sewmaster <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote in >news:[EMAIL PROTECTED]: > > >What state do you live in that requires an safety inspection? >Here, we've discovered the Lousiana $10.00 brake inspection >sticker scam. >You go in, pay your annual 10.00 to get your brakes and lights >checked and to make sure you don't have any big cracks in your >windshield. >What you get is a cursory glance out of the inspector's >window, a form to fill out, and a stupid big sticker placed in your lower >windshield that obscures your vision.
