Texture - absorbancy - "ingredients" - etc. Not too much of a difference normally, but when you get a REALLY good one, you know it. It's rare that they are frugally purchased, but sometimes... Just sometimes, you can get a hold of one and know what a real good towel is like. They usually weigh in at twice the weight of a "normal" towel.
