Hello all. Well, we finally got someone out to diagnose the slamming sound we'd been hearing coming from our well pump storage tank, and it was probably the worst possible scenario... Seems we need a new well pump. Well, like most people I know these days, we don't have a spare $3k-$5k laying around at the moment, so we're trying to come up with the money somehow. In the mean time though, I'm trying to work up some contingency plans, and I have a question (which I'm finally getting to!)... Is there any way to hook up some sort of external water tank to the inlet of the pump storage tank temporarily? What I'm thinking is that if the pump dies completely, which we are told is just a matter of time, if I know I can at least hook up some sort of tank to take the place os the well on a temporary basis, I at least have a fall-back. I mean, we can ration our water supply and buy water and fill the tank on a regular basis. Very annoying and certainly not a long-term solution, but since getting the money together doesn't seem likely at the moment, it's an option I'd at least like to know I have. Any insight anyone can offer will be very much appreciated!
